International

As a participant in the Erasmus, Ceepus and Leonardo programmes, the university encourages students to spend a semester studying or working abroad. There is a lively exchange of students and lecturers with partner universities across Europe, in Latin America and China. International students studying at St. Pölten can rely on the support of an academic tutor assigned to them personally and on the support of the "International Student Network" (ISN), a peer organisation that looks after exchange students from abroad and helps them integrate into the student community.

While teaching at St. Pölten is primarily in German, an increasing number of lectures and seminars are being held in English. German language classes are offered to all international students.

In accordance with the aims of the Bologna Declaration, the European Credit Transfer System is used consistently and Diploma Supplements are issued to graduates. The switch to the Bachelor/Master structure in all academic programmes will be completed by the year 2007.
